THE WIND KNOWS MY NAME

The Story of TerryLee WHETSTONe — Music4Winds

Before there were awards, before there were trophies, before anyone knew the name, there was a man with something inside him that would not be quiet. A story. A sound. A question. And somewhere along the way, he discovered something important—you don't have to be the loudest voice in the room to make the room listen. Sometimes, you just have to speak your truth and let the wind carry it.

His name is TerryLee WHETSTONe. But somewhere along this journey, something changed. Because this was never supposed to be about one man's name. It was never supposed to be about putting TerryLee on everything. Years ago, he took his own name off the awards and replaced it with one name: Music4Winds. Not because he was hiding. Not because his journey didn't matter. But because he finally knew what the music was really for.

Music for the World.

Music to reach beyond borders. Beyond cultures. Beyond age. Beyond language. To reach and touch the heart and soul, one human being at a time.

Let the wind carry the music,
Let the music carry love,
Let it travel where it needs to go,
Like a message from above.
I don't need the world to know my name,
I only want the music to be heard,
If one heart feels a little more alive,
Then the music has done its work.

That is Music4Winds. Not simply a name. A purpose. A belief. A way of saying: The music isn't mine once I release it. It belongs to whoever needs it. To the person sitting alone in a quiet room. To the child discovering wonder. To the person carrying grief. To the person searching for peace. To the person who needs one small reason to keep moving forward. One song. One image. One word. One breath. One human being at a time.

And TerryLee kept creating. For more than fifty years. Dozens of albums. Instrumental music. Sound healing. Meditative music. New Age. Folk. Children's music. Spoken word. Film. Video. Stories without borders. And through it all, the same question remained: Can this reach somebody? Not—How many people will know my name? But—How many hearts can this touch?

Let the wind carry the music,
Let the music carry love,
Let it travel where it needs to go,
Like a message from above.
I don't need the world to know my name,
I only want the music to be heard,
If one heart feels a little more alive,
Then the music has done its work.

There were years. Decades. There were victories. There were losses. There were moments when life became heavier than any song could carry. But he kept walking. Because sometimes, the music is born from the very places where words have failed us. And perhaps that is why his music keeps returning to truth, hope, humanity, the Earth, children, memory, the passage of time, and the light we carry inside ourselves.

Then came "The Inward Light." A song about the light that doesn't need to be given to us because it is already there. Sometimes covered. Sometimes forgotten. But still there. Waiting to be seen.

And in 2026, Music4Winds walked into the Indie Music Channel Awards. Not TerryLee looking for a spotlight. Music4Winds. The music. The videos. The stories. The years of work. The purpose.

And then—fifteen awards. Fifteen times the work was recognized. Children's music. Easy Listening. Instrumental. New Age. Spoken Word. And Soundtrack.

But Soundtrack—that was something different. Because "The Inward Light" didn't simply win. It swept the entire category: Best Soundtrack Artist, Best Soundtrack Recording, Best Soundtrack Song, and Best Soundtrack Songwriter. And "Echoes in Water" was recognized for Best Soundtrack Video Under $5,000.

Five doors opened, and behind every one was the same message.

And perhaps, that is the real award. Not the trophy. Not the certificate. Not the applause. The real award is knowing that somewhere, someone heard a song, watched a video, heard a flute, listened to a spoken word, and for just a moment felt something. Maybe peace. Maybe hope. Maybe understanding. Maybe they simply felt less alone.

That is Music4Winds.

Let the wind carry the music,
Let the music carry me,
Not for fame and not for fortune,
But for every soul that's listening.
I don't need the world to know my name,
Let Music4Winds be what they see,
For music is a bridge between us all,
And every heart can set it free.

So, who is TerryLee WHETSTONe? He is the man who made the music. The man who walked the road. The man who learned the lessons. The man who kept creating. But when the music leaves his hands, he gives it away. He gives it to the world.

Because the name on the award is not the most important name. Music4Winds is there to remind us what the music is for.

Music for the World.

Not one country. Not one generation. Not one culture. Not one person. The world.

And the mission is simple: Reach the heart. Touch the soul. Leave a little light behind. One human being at a time.

Maybe someday, people won't remember how many awards there were. Maybe they won't remember how many albums were made. Maybe they won't even remember the name of the song. But perhaps, somebody will remember how they felt.

And if they do, then the music lives.

Let the wind carry the music,
Let it travel far and wide,
Let it find the waiting heart,
Let it walk beside us in the night.
I don't need the world to know my name,
The music says what I believe,
Music for the World...
One heart at a time...
One soul at a time...

TerryLee WHETSTONe made the music. But Music4Winds is what the music became.

A name without a face. A message without a border. A song without a single owner.

Because when you create something from the heart and release it into the world, you don't know where it will go. You only know—you sent it.

So let the wind carry it. Let the music find them. Let it cross every distance. Let it reach the person who needs it most.

One human being at a time.

That is the story. That is the journey. That is Music4Winds.

Music for the World.

Music/Video: The song was written and recorded for placement in a Native film being done in N.Y. but they went a different way.
"In the heart of the wild, where the spirit of the buffalo roams, a tale unfolds; a story of resilience, harmony, and the winds that carry the soul of their song." This land they call home has a highway running through it, a symbol of change and modernity. But the buffalo, with wisdom, passed down through generations, do not falter. In their timeless rhythm, they show us the way; a way of living in harmony, even when the world around them changes. Their story echoes through the winds, carried by the music of their spirit, resonating with the heartbeat of the Earth. Through trials and tribulations, they march forward, rooted in their ancient connection to the land. In the face of adversity, they stand tall, a symbol of strength, unity, and determination. Though their song was meant for the silver screen, their spirit continues to echo in the winds, a reminder that even in the face of change, their melody remains alive. So, as we walk this journey of life, let us learn from the buffalo; to stay true to our essence, to live harmoniously amidst change, and to let our music be carried by the winds. In honor of the buffalo's timeless spirit and the winds that carry their song. Let us forever cherish the harmony they embody and the wisdom they impart. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
